Bethany N. White

Host/Creative Director

Bethany (Beth) White is the Non-Billable’s Hour other host, its creative director, anecdotal master, and larger-than-life, brash personality. She’s usually the one with an inappropriate joke, random pop culture reference, or long-winded story about the mundane. On a rare occasion, she may also teach you a thing or two about the law.

A self-described creative spirit, before becoming a lawyer, Beth’s passion was writing and storytelling. If you’ve ever had a conversation with her, you know she can spin a yarn with the best of them, and her number one bucket list item is to write a book. However, the day-to-day practice of law created a hole where that creative spark once resided. The Non-Billable Hour is her way to get back that creative mojo and share it with the world while imparting the (little) wisdom she has from being a lawyer. She wants to show that attorneys can be masterful at the practice of law without sacrificing their dynamic and authentic selves to fit into the typical “lawyer” persona.

Beth is a lifelong Midwestern gal, growing up in the cornfields of DeKalb, Illinois, attending college at the University of Illinois, and then heading home for three years of law school at Northern Illinois University. She started practicing law in 2006 and has been working with her co-host, Dan, since 2008. She is married and has the two most awesome children on the planet. She lives with her family and enormous dog on the north side of Chicago. Outside of podcasting and lawyering, she loves music, especially concert going. She’s also a huge cinephile, Bravo addict, Taylor Swift fan (but not a Swiftie), and low-key lover of all things weird and creepy. If you want to know more about her life in the law, you can find her attorney profile here: https://www.arnettlawgroup.com/attorney/bethany-n-white/.
